Domain Learning

Our learning program at St Thomas has embraced a domain specific curriculum based on the Victorian Curriculum 2.0. In the areas of Science, History, Geography,  Civics and Citizenship from Year 3 and Economics and Business from Year 5. Students will engage in learning particular content using the I Do, We Do, You Do model. Allowing students to form their own skills before delving into an inquiry on the topics.

During Years Foundation - Year 2, learning is focused on smaller, guided tasks where the children are challenged to play specific roles and complete hands-on and research tasks. Throughout Years 3 - 6, challenges become more in depth with specialised support and engage in group, independent or project learning.

Students at St Thomas engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning for a variety of their domain topics.
