Building Positive Relationships and Fostering a Healthy Mind are two key components of the school's weekly Wellbeing lessons. In these weekly Wellbeing lessons, developing mindfulness, emotional literacy and vital social skills are a continued focus.
The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Program informs the Social and Emotional Learning curriculum at St Thomas Primary School.
Year 3 - Year 6 students participate in weekly 'Little Earthies' sessions. By learning outside and working in teams ,students build strong friendships, connect with nature and develop an appreciation for creation.
Linked with Pope Francis' Encyclical: Laudato Si, our students plant trees, grow vegetables, turn compost and tend to gardens, all in the aim of living as stewards of God's creation.
The 'Peaceful Kids' Program is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program. This program is designed for students who require additional support in building emotional resilience. Led by one of the school's educators trained in the program, small groups of students participate in an 8-week, weekly program.
The classroom equivalent, 'Peaceful Classrooms', provides lessons, meditations and activities for whole class wellbeing sessions. These are drawn upon in Wellbeing sessions for Foundation to Year 2.
