God our Father bless the community of St Thomas
and help us to love you more and more each day.
Guide all the teachers and parents and children
so we may do our best in our work and play.
Hold us in the palm of your loving hand and keep us safe today.
Amen
St Thomas Primary School is dedicated to faith and mission.
Religious Education at St Thomas Primary School is guided by the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) framework to engage students in the ritutals, rites and traditions of the Catholic Church. Learning areas include:
Scripture
Prayer and Liturgy
Sacraments
Catholic Social Teachings
Students are taught both formal and informal prayers, participate in daily prayer, Christian meditation twice a week and reflect on the scripture.
Guided by the Church's Liturgical Calendar, students participate in traditions such as Holy Week, Feast Days and Advent.
The school embraces social justice, sharing a strong connection with Mini Vinnies.
Students in Years 3, 4 and 6 participate in the school's Sacramental Program. The Sacramental Program aims to deepen students' faith formation and relationship with God.
The Sacraments are:
Sacrament of First Reconciliation (Year 3)
Sacrament of First Eucharist (Year 4)
Sacrament of Confirmation (Year 6)
In partnership with our Parish Priest, Fr Ray Bugeja, our students have regular opportunities to participate in Mass and Prayer Services. Classes are timetabled to join parishioners at Parish Masses, held on Thursdays, and all school families are invited to attend the Family Parish Mass, held on the first Sunday of each month.
